Eighteen month old Moya limped into rescue
with a painful cruciate ligament tear that
requires costly surgery. Just a puppy, this
sweet girl does not realize why her left rear
leg hurts when she places her weight on it. It
will take delicate orthopedic surgery to help
her to put “4 on the floor” once more!

            ***Update***
Moya had her torn cruciate ligament expertly
repaired by orthopedist, Dr. Gregory Zolton,
at the Round Valley Veterinary Group in
Lebanon, N.J. April 10, 2008.  Predictably,
Moya made many friends during her short
hospitalization, and when I arrived to take her
home today, everyone had such wonderful
comments about our girl!!  She is resting
comfortably in her foster home with Maureen,
and will have her stitches removed in 12 days.
Then, following a 6 week recuperation, she will
be ready to enjoy the good life . . pain free!

We appreciate the support of the Dooney
Bourke Co. for donating a new hand bag for
our raffle basket.  This prize has generated
such overwhelming response and great ticket
sales!! Thank you all for rallying to Moya's aid
by selling raffle tickets for this prize, and for
sending such generous donations!  I have a
renewed faith in the goodness of people,  and
our benefactors, volunteers and adopters are
really the best!!!!

I was always sure that Moya's former owners
disposed of her rather than get her the help
she has desperately required.  Dr. Zolton
agreed with me that she is between 18-24
months old. . .no more than 2 years old at
most.  He was surprised to encounter so
much arthritis in her knee, and imagines that
she has needed this surgery for as long as a
year!!

Thank you all,
Linda
