All of our dogs must pass a stringent temperament evaluation for safe handling, people-focus, no food and resource guarding, and acceptable behavior with other animals before being accepted into our program. All of our dogs are fostered in private homes before being offered for adoption. There they begin basic obedience and learn to live indoors . . . sometimes for the very first time! Our rescues are altered, micro chipped, made current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, treated if necessary, and on preventative. The safety and well-being of our animals is of utmost importance to us, so our adoption process includes a detailed phone interview, two personal references, a vet reference, and an on-site home check. We offer our Rottweilers and pit bulls to adopters over 26 years old with breed experience. Home-owners are preferred for these breeds. With all of this information, we strive to offer you a compatible dog for your circumstances. A donation of $275.00 for an adult dog and $350.00 for a pure bred puppy under 6 months is used to offset the cost of offering a healthy companion to complete your family. The most important job in rescue is foster care. The number of dogs that can be saved and placed in loving homes is directly related to the number of active foster homes we have in our organization. Dogs who enter our organization are temperament-tested for stable personalities, spayed or neutered, brought up to date on routine vaccinations, have a clean fecal test and are on heartworm preventative. Some may need a refresher course in housebreaking or reminded of their house manners. So many dogs lose their happy homes because negligent owners failed to obedience train them. Your mission is to offer basic training and socialization to these unfortunate dogs and puppies and your reward is seeing them placed with grateful responsible families. If you would like to make a difference in the life of a homeless dog, please submit an online application to foster. Thank you! HELP!! Your signature is urgently needed now! Dogs were tortured and killed in New Orleans The people who did it (in spite of being videotaped and witnessed) were set free....we need to protest this. It only takes 30 seconds. We need to expedite this petition so that any evidence still existing, doesn't disperse. Please follow this link: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/408098466 |
